Almancil hosts the live podcast "The Poem Teaches You to Fall" by Raquel Marinho

The Casimiro de Brito Branch, in Almancil, of the Loulé Municipal Library, will host the live podcast «O Poema Ensina a Cair», written by journalist Raquel Marinho, on July 24th, at 6:30 pm.

This conversation between Raquel Marinho and Ana Isabel Soares, a professor at the University of Algarve ( UAlg ), will be interspersed with the reading of poems, which will pay tribute to the writer from Loulé, Casimiro de Brito, patron of this space.

Celebrating the art of words since 2014, "O Poema Ensina a Cair" is the brainchild of journalist and poetry promoter Raquel Marinho. It's a project that unites culture, poetry, and social impact through podcasts, social media, and events.

Through its literary community, present on social media with a reach of 450,000 people, "O Poema Ensina a Cair" has become a space for sharing, dialogue, and reflection. It forms a bridge between the public and literature, a platform that celebrates the art of words with emotion and depth.

Raquel Marinho was born in Luanda in 1974. She began her career as a journalist, having worked for TSF, TVI and SIC, where she worked for more than two decades.

In 2014, he created «O Poema Ensina a Cair», a project dedicated to promoting poetry.

Over the years, he has taken poetry to different formats – podcasts, radio, events, and social media – always with the aim of bringing literature closer to the public.

In 2020, he launched the podcast "O Poema Ensina a Cair," which won the PODES Award for Best Portuguese Arts and Culture Podcast in 2021. He created and presented projects such as "Ambos na Mesma Página" on Antena 2, "Museu Infinito" at Casa Fernando Pessoa, and "A Noite Inédita" (a reading of unpublished poems by Portuguese authors), consolidating his presence in the promotion of literature.

Ana Isabel Soares holds a PhD in Literary Theory (FLUL, 2003). She has taught at UAlg since 1996, where she is an Associate Professor.

She was a founding member of the Association of Moving Image Researchers, of which she served as its first president from 2010 to 2014. She is a member of the Center for Research in Arts and Communication at the University of Alg (UAlg). She studies Portuguese cinema, particularly its relationship with poetic texts. She translated (with Merja de Mattos-Parreira) the Finnish epic Kalevala (ed. Dom Quixote, 2013). She has also translated verses by Pier Paolo Pasolini and Gerard Malanga, among others, into Portuguese.
